چکیده

Purpose: To describe the long-term outcomes of 2 cases primary autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) for treatment central nervous system lymphoma–ophthalmic variant (PCNSL-O) or vitreoretinal lymphoma (PVRL). Methods: Two and their findings were analyzed. A review histopathology, systemic treatment, multimodal ocular imaging was performed. Results: 52-year-old woman 56-year-old referred vitritis retinal lesions suspicious PCNSL-O. The initial vitreous biopsies inconclusive. Both patients had subsequent chorioretinal that confirmed diagnosis diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. No involvement found on workup. received intravitreal chemotherapy followed by ASCT, both remained in complete remission 7 8 years later. Conclusions: These show survival diagnosed with PVRL when PCNSL, is

The role of autologous stem cell transplantation in primary central nervous system lymphoma.

Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) treatment includes 2 phases: induction and consolidation. Induction consists of high-dose methotrexate-based polychemotherapy for most patients, with regimen and dose variations according to patient characteristics and country. Several strategies have been proposed for the consolidation phase, with whole-brain irradiation (WBRT) the most common. H...

Primary central nervous system (CNS) lymphoma is an unusual but increasingly frequent brain tumor being identified by neurologists. Primary CNS lymphomas (PCNSL) represent a subgroup of malignancies with specific characteristics, aggressive course, and unsatisfactory outcome in contrast with other lymphomas comparable for tumour burden and/or histological type.
